Circa WW1 Gordon Highlanders plaid brooch as worn by NCO’s and pipers with a disc of original regimental tartan behind. Four part plaid brooch.

The Gordon Highlanders was a line infantry regiment of the British Army that existed for 113 years, from 1881 until 1994, when it was amalgamated with the Queen’s Own Highlanders (Seaforth Highlanders and Cameron Highlanders) to form the Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons). The kilt pin was also worn by the officers of the Seaforth Highlanders and is still worn by the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada.
