Antique Scottish Galley Clan Crest Silver 1929 Buttons - Set of six

A super quality rare set of six Scottish solid sterling silver ship crested buttons. They are all hallmarked for Glasgow 1929 with the maker being TSC - T S Cuthbert, Buchanan Street, Glasgow.

They have been beautifully made being engraved with a Scottish galley ship crest. The classic Scottish galley makes up part of the crests of many West Coast clans and has connections to the 12th century Norse-Gaelic Lord, Somerled. The clans and families using the Norse galley in part of their crests include Campbell of Airds, MacLean clan, The Earl of Orkney, McAndrew, Barratt, Crichton, Milne of Blairtoun Monteith and Tighe ( Ireland ) .
