Antique 1860’s Style Scottish Grey Goats Hair Dress Sporran

One of the many bespoke projects we recently created for a client was based on the goats hair sporrans of the 1860’s - 1880’s as shown in the watercolours by Kenneth MacLeay in his monograph for Queen Victoria The Highlanders of Scotland.

The Prince Charlie thistle cantle was paired with a grey goats hair body. The body was embellished with three white goats hair tassels with thistle cones. The military style back purse finished the sporran in a classic look on fine Ox blood hide and completed with a tooled design.

Approx size. 6″ x 18″

We design bespoke sporrans for clients using new and vintage sporran cantles. Our range of fine quality Scottish goat hair sporrans are hand made in Scotland.
